Examples
Skylark Path Work
Skylarks Nature Reserve was recently expanded when the Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust purchased neighbouring land. Large scale works were started by the Trust and EMEC Land Management won the tender to carry out a variety of habitat enhancement works. A total of 2km of boarded limestone path were created for wheelchair access across the site. Additional access work included the reinforcement of two bridges, installation of metal accessible gates, welded tubular fencing and vehicular access gates.
Attenborough Path Work
Attenborough Nature Reserve is the Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust’s flagship site with an award winning visitor centre which is sited on a peninsular. At the tip of the peninsular, behind the visitor centre, is a small wildlife garden and education area. The EMEC land management team resurfaced the paths with gravel as well as re-siting a rail fence, fitting a small access gate and putting up a post and rope fence. Our team worked with volunteers from the reserve, using wheel barrows to transport materials to limit vehicle use and potential disturbance to wildlife at the site.
