Architects | EMEC Ecology

Architects design structures that play a massive role in the development of the built environment. It is therefore crucial for architects to understand the most effective ways to create biodiverse and sustainable developments that promote the desired need for unity between urban and natural environments.

Working alongside architects, EMEC provides proactive ecology, arboriculture and land management advice to help create sustainable commercial and residential projects for the private and public sector.

In order to create green spaces that can be enjoyed by all, our services are based on the objective the architect is trying to achieve and we will work closely with you to deliver the desired outcome in the most ecologically effective way. We help you balance the architectural and design specifications alongside the need to comply with planning regulations to ensure there are no surprises in during later stages of the build.

From Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, through to detailed protected species surveys, we provide our baseline information and mitigation strategies in clear and robust Ecological Impact Assessment reports which support planning applications for an extensive range of development projects.

Our specialist team of ecologists are experienced and successful in the application of Natural England Licence applications, including for bats and great crested newts. We undertake and co-ordinate a comprehensive range of ecology surveys, matching the expertise of specialist ecologists to meet the requirements of a project.
