Sam assists the team with site assessments, including PRA’s and PEA’s, along with map creation, administrative responsibilities and sound analysis from bat surveys. He has experience in several aspects of Ecology, including Bat, Great-Crested Newt, Water Vole, Reptile and Breeding Bird Surveys and am currently working towards gaining my Bat and GCN licences.
He has previous experience working in conservation and for the local authority, and is currently completing his degree through the Open University focusing on Ecology, Biology and Environmental Science.
Sam is a qualified tree climber and recently won the Mammal Society’s Student University Challenge, which entailed recording tracks, signs and sightings of UK mammals.
In his spare time, Sam enjoys wildlife photography, and has a passionate interest in fungi.
