Boardwalk and Dipping Platforms
To enhance the infrastructure and accessibility of wetland habitats to the public, EMEC can design and construct boardwalks and pond dipping platforms. With experience in a variety of projects (see below) the team can build to suit your needs, be this to accommodate a small look-out or allow for wheelchair accessible pond dipping activities.
Examples
Skylark Path Dipping Platform Extension
In 2014/15 Skylarks Nature Reserve had extensive work carried out, enhancing the habitat and infrastructure installation. The site had an old wooden boardwalk and dipping platform which was replaced with a new recycled plastic platform. EMEC Land Management were contracted to extend the boardwalk into a T shape, to further enhance its acessibility for wheeelchair users.
Barkers Wood Dipping Platform
Barkers wood is a part of Bullwell Hall Park on the outskirts of Nottingham City. EMEC carried out a variety of tree felling and fencing projects on the site for the City Council. Barkers Wood has an ephemeral pond at which EMEC Land Management constructed a small dipping platform from recycled plastic boards.
