EMEC is pleased to announce the promotion of Edd Cullen to the role of Ecologist, recognising his continued development and contribution since joining the company in 2023.
Having previously worked as an Assistant Ecologist, Edd has taken the next step in his career and will now be leading on small-scale projects, conducting ecological surveys, and producing a range of technical reports to support clients in meeting planning and biodiversity requirements.
Edd holds an MSc in Biodiversity Conservation from Nottingham Trent University and joined EMEC after a career change from the retail sector. Since then, he has embraced the opportunity to build his skills and experience in applied ecology, driven by a passion for conservation and a deep respect for the natural world.
Commenting on his promotion Edd said “I was drawn to EMEC because of its unique structure, with all profits going to Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust. Knowing that the work I do helps support conservation efforts across the region is incredibly motivating.”
Adding, Dr Ed Tripp, Consultancy Director at EMEC, said “Edd has made fantastic progress since joining EMEC. His attention to detail, commitment to quality and enthusiasm for ecology have made him a valued member of the team. We’re delighted to see him step into the Ecologist role and look forward to seeing how he continues to grow and contribute to our projects.”
Edd’s promotion reflects EMEC’s ongoing investment in talent development, ensuring staff have the opportunity to progress within the organisation and contribute to meaningful ecological work.
