EMEC is pleased to announce the appointment of Dace Fenton as a Land Management Operative, further strengthening our growing team.
Dace brings a diverse background in forestry, farming, and conservation, underpinned by a degree in Education and a portfolio of skills-based qualifications for operating a wide range of land management machinery.
Currently completing a certificate in Conservation Management, Dace’s career has been driven by a passion for the natural world and a desire to promote biodiversity.
Before joining EMEC, Dace most recently worked as a ranger for the NWT Northern Reserves. Previous roles also includes work with a small forestry company focused on habitat management and native woodland creation, running a wildlife-friendly garden maintenance business, working on organic farms, and leading coastal pollution data collection expeditions.
In the new role at EMEC, Dace will be actively involved in habitat creation, restoration, and ongoing maintenance across a wide range of sites.
Speaking about her appointment, Dace said “EMEC provides a brilliant opportunity to continue my work in wildlife conservation and habitat creation, right here in the area where I live and where my children are growing up. I’m excited to be working with local landowners, organisations and community groups on projects that bring biodiversity back to this part of the world. EMEC has years of experience in this field, and I’m looking forward to learning a lot from the team.”
Dr Ed Tripp, Consultancy Director at EMEC, added: “We’re delighted to welcome a new member to our land management team. Dace’s wide-ranging practical experience and deep-rooted passion for conservation will be a real asset to our work. Dace’s enthusiasm for community engagement and nature-based solutions aligns perfectly with EMEC’s mission to restore and enhance biodiversity across the Midlands.”
Outside of work, Dace is happiest exploring wild landscapes and observing the behaviour of wildlife. She enjoys fell running and growing food on her allotment.
